Spring Equinox: Awaken the Fire Within

As the wheel of the year turns, I am pausing to honour the moment of perfect balance. The Spring Equinox marks the end of winter’s slumber and the vibrant return of the light. For me, this is a season of renewal, intention-setting, and stoking the inner sparks that have stayed quiet during the cold months.
I invite you to join me for an afternoon of connection and ritual as we gather to Awaken the Fire Within. Together, we will shed the old skin of winter and call forth the energy needed to manifest our visions for the year ahead.
The Ritual: The Despacho Salt Bowl
The heart of our gathering will be the creation of a Despacho. Inspired by Andean tradition, I will be leading us in creating a physical mandala of gratitude and prayer—an offering to the Earth and the elements.
We will build a collective Salt Bowl offering. To me, salt represents the earth and purification; as we add our intentions to the bowl, we create a powerful vessel for transformation and growth.
• Your Contribution: I ask that you bring a small natural item to offer to the salt bowl. This could be a dried flower, a special stone, a feather, a seed, or a piece of wood, an essential oil. Choose something that symbolizes a quality you wish to "awaken" in yourself this season.
• Time: Our ritual begins at 1:00 PM. You are welcome to arrive starting at 12:45 PM to get settled, ground yourself, and find a spot by the fire.
• Location: I will be hosting this outdoors around the fire, weather permitting. If the elements are too harsh, we will move to my indoor backup space.
• What to Wear: Please dress for the weather. Even with the fire, March afternoons can be chilly. I recommend layers, sturdy boots, and perhaps a warm blanket to keep you comfortable while we sit with the land. Along with a mug to enjoy something warm to sip on.
• What to Bring: Your natural offering for the Despacho, a journal, a drum if you have, and an open heart.
The Equinox is one of the two times a year when day and night are of equal length. I find this "threshold" energy to be incredibly potent for balancing my personal energy and finally igniting action on dreams that have been dormant through the winter.
